September session will feature Mike Macnab discussing bequests. Bequests are often the most significant source of charitable gift income to a nonprofit organization. Development offices spend lots of attention cultivating their donors to include their organization in an estate plan. However, they often spend less attention on what needs to happen after an organization has been notified that it has been included in the will or other estate plan of a donor who has passed away.
This PG 101 session will focus on how your organization can establish systems and procedures for handling the bequest administration process. Large or small, each bequest gift represents your donor’s very personal commitment to your organization. Therefore, each bequest deserves your attention and care to make sure the donor’s intentions are fulfilled. Join this session so that you know what to do the next time you are notified that your organization has been included in a donor’s will or other estate plans.
